Project Manager, Service Operations
Ciena is the global leader in high‑speed connectivity. Within Service Operations, this role plays a critical part in enabling circular supply chain outcomes by coordinating customer buy‑back programs, guiding product disposition, and supporting resale pathways. The position partners closely with internal teams and external logistics and repair providers to keep material moving efficiently while helping shape a digital storefront that increases internal reuse and customer value.
How you will make an impact:
- Lead end‑to‑end project coordination for customer buy‑back programs, from disposition decisions through logistics, repair, and resale
- Coordinate transportation, logistics tracking, and warehouse receiving activities to minimize delays and bottlenecks
- Manage third‑party logistics (3PL) partners and warehouse suppliers to ensure timely receipt, storage, and shipment of material
- Proactively identify risks across warehousing, repair, and logistics flows and drive corrective actions
- Facilitate clear communication across customer account teams, supply chain, and external partners to align on product disposition
- Support the development of an online storefront that provides visibility to available stock for internal purchase and resale
- Track and report key performance indicators to senior leadership on a regular cadence
The must haves:
- Bachelor’s or Honors degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or engineering
- 5+ years of project management experience within supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or service operations environments
- Demonstrated experience coordinating cross‑functional teams and external partners
- Strong problem‑solving, financial acumen, communication, and stakeholder leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and executive reporting
Nice to haves:
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle
- Familiarity with inventory management or logistics tracking platforms
- Experience supporting repair, recertification, or reverse logistics programs
- Exposure to digital commerce, internal marketplaces, or asset resale models
