 We’re looking for an IT Project Manager to help deliver technology initiatives for a government department that plays a vital role in public service delivery. What you will be doing 

In this role, you’ll support the successful delivery of IT projects from planning through to implementation and transition. Working alongside business leaders, technical teams, and delivery partners, you’ll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the standards expected in a government environment.

You’ll be hands‑on, detail‑focused, and comfortable operating in a structured, regulated setting — while still bringing energy, curiosity, and a solutions‑focused mindset.

 What will keep you busy 

  • Most work is Agile based however some of the newer projects will be run in Scrum
  • Supporting the end‑to‑end delivery of IT projects that enable better government services
  • Helping define scope, requirements, and deliverables with business and technical stakeholders
  • Tracking progress, managing risks and issues, and supporting change control
  • Assisting with budget tracking, resourcing, and vendor coordination
  • Preparing clear, concise project reports for governance forums and senior stakeholders
  • Ensuring project documentation is accurate, complete, and audit‑ready
  • Contributing ideas to improve how projects are delivered across the organisation

The skills you will bring 

  • We are looking for a PM who has preferably worked as a scrum lead as well as worked in traditional PMP environment
  • Ideally experienced with Scrum (structured sprints, managing scope and delivery) along side standard PM discipline—handling the full lifecycle from the initial SOW through to tracking project financials, budgets, and reporting
  • They must have experience delivering bespoke, custom-coded software development (e.g, .NET environments) alongside developers and testers.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, business, or a related field
  • Mid level PM required. Around 4+ years’ experience, with at least 1+ year supporting or managing IT projects
  • Experience working in IT delivery environments (specifically applications)
  • A solid understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, PMP or Hybrid)
  • Experience working in or with government or regulated environments – highly desirable
  • Familiarity with public‑sector governance, reporting, or assurance processes – highly desirable
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or Scrum
  • Strong communication skills — you can work comfortably with technical and non‑technical people
  • A curious, proactive learner who enjoys improving how things are done

Skills Required

  • 4+ years experience in project management
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
