Project Manager for Application Rationalization
CONTRACT TERM : 6 months
Location: Remote
Base Location: San Jose, CA
Responsibilities:
Need a qualified consultant to support a comprehensive Application Rationalization Assessment within its integrated healthcare system
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
∙ Conduct stakeholder interviews across healthcare departments to assess application usage, value, and redundancies.
∙ Analyze the complete application inventory (300+ systems), including business and clinical software.
∙ Review licensing, maintenance, and support costs for each application.
∙ Assess application alignment with data retention, legal, compliance, and risk frameworks. Evaluate system dependencies, technical architecture, and infrastructure footprint (e.g., servers, storage).
∙ Build and maintain an accurate, searchable application catalog with metadata on ownership, cost, and utilization. Identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, or decommissioning.
∙ Develop a roadmap and action plan for secure decommissioning, archival, and data migration. Prepare and deliver executive-ready summaries and recommendations
Engagement Approach:
Phase 1 – Mobilization & Discovery: Data request, stakeholder alignment, project planning.
Phase 2 – Current State Assessment: Interview sessions, system analysis, gap identification.
Phase 3 – Strategic Roadmap: Decommissioning plan, rationalization priorities, cost-saving opportunities.
Phase 4 – Final Presentation: Executive summary, key findings, roadmap delivery.
