Job Summary
The Project Manager plans and manages small-to-medium sized projects of moderate complexity and ensures project results contribute positive business value and meet agreed on scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives. The Project Manager will be accountable for the project team's day-to-day execution and compliance with prescribed methodology process, including project charter development, project initiation and facilitation, project plan development, risk and issues management, quality planning, and communications planning. Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior level roles. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex.
Essential Functions
- Plans out the delivery for small-medium sized projects of low-medium complexity to realize the business case beginning with the requirements definition and continuing through development, test, and final delivery.
- Demonstrates strong written/verbal communication, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Works in a team environment and builds strong relationships with NiSource technology partners.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and contributes to project management processes to facilitate statement of work development and vendor progress management.
- Demonstrates a moderate understanding of core project management activities for risk, issue, decision management, dependency management, status reporting, demand, budgeting, forecasting, variance explanations and capacity management.
- Facilitates collaboration across multiple functions, departments, and levels and serve as a role model for teamwork.
- Demonstrates moderate interpersonal skills, including the ability to contribute when making effective project presentations and communicates technical concepts to non-technical clients.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative and Agile) and tools (ServiceNow, PowerBI and Jira)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required Qualifications For Position
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of business applications
- 1-2+ years of project management experience
- 1-2+ years of overall work experience
- Moderate knowledge in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools Medium
- Agile process experience for application implementation Low
- Basic understanding of IT Enterprise technologies Low
- Moderate project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Low
- Moderate planning, organizational, and leadership skills Medium
- Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Experience in the utilities industry
- Experience with cost management/forecasting and variance explanations and resource capacity planning
- Experience with business process development and change management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Either Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI/ACP) certification
- Experience with Agile processes for application implementation
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Upon Hire

Salary Range:
$77,400.00 - $116,200.00
