Role Summary:
The Project Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading the procurement activities of large Engineered to Order projects from initiation to completion, managing all purchasing and sourcing activities to ensure successful, on-time, and cost-effective delivery. This role combines project management discipline with strategic procurement expertise to drive performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Project Procurement Specialist works cross-functionally with project management, engineering, operations, and commercial teams, maintaining full ownership of project execution and supplier performance.
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm
Responsibilities Include:
Project Management:
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for total project procurement execution and performance from initiation to completion.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate cross-functional procurement activities to meet project objectives on scope, budget, and schedule.
- Communicate project milestones, risks, and updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Lead problem-solving, risk management, and conflict resolution activities to maintain project success.
Procurement & Supply Chain:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project and company objectives.
- Negotiate best prices, terms, and commercial conditions with suppliers to optimize cost and delivery performance.
- Manage supplier relationships, including quarterly business reviews and performance evaluations.
- Execute Just-in-Time purchasing principles to ensure timely material availability for manufacturing projects.
- Support quotation activities to achieve competitive pricing and delivery terms.
- Create sourcing packages, manage requisitions, and resolve invoice and supply discrepancies.
- Conduct inventory, demand planning, and supplier capacity analysis to minimize shortages and obsolescence.
- Support commercial and operations teams in aligning purchasing and business strategies.
Requirements:
- BS or BA Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of combined experience in project management and/or procurement within a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Thorough understanding of procurement, supplier quality, logistics, and contracting.
- Excellent oral and written communication; able to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
- Must be willing to travel up to 5%
