Position Summary

      The Commercial HVAC Project Lead is responsible for overseeing commercial HVAC installation projects from pre-construction through project completion. This position leads field crews, coordinates with project managers, project supervisors, general contractors, and subcontractors, and ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise commercial HVAC change out and installation crews on assigned projects
  • Coordinate daily job site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and mechanical plans
  • Install, oversee, and inspect commercial HVAC systems, including ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, exhaust      systems, and associated equipment
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies
  • Coordinate with project managers, project supervisors, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors throughout the project lifecycle as needed
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and material needs for each phase of the project
  • Identify and resolve installation challenges while minimizing project delays
  • Maintain quality control by inspecting completed work and ensuring installations meet project specifications
  • Train, mentor, and develop installers and apprentices
  • Complete required project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and material tracking
  • Participate in project meetings as needed and communicate project status to management

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC installation experience
  • Previous experience leading commercial HVAC crews preferred
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, controls, and mechanical equipment
  • Understanding local, state, and federal codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications
  • A thorough understanding of OSHA safety standards and commercial construction practices
  • EPA Certification required
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to operate power tools, equipment, and job site machinery safely

  • Ability to climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access elevated work areas
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active commercial construction sites
