Your next career opportunity 
You will lead a landmark national project to Close the Gap in diabetes for Indigenous communities. 

You will collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners to drive meaningful health, policy and research outcomes. 

What you will deliver: 

  • Lead day-to-day management of the Close the Gap in Diabetes project, achieving agreed milestones and outcomes. 

  • Design and deliver the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Diabetes Summit with key partners and stakeholders. 

  • Prepare governance, ethics and collaboration documentation, ensuring compliance and effective project risk and quality management. 

  • Coordinate research activities, data analysis and publication of findings, disseminating evidence through reports, presentations and forums. 

  • Build and maintain culturally safe partnerships with Aboriginal organisations, communities and service providers across Australia. 

 

You may be a great fit if you: 

  • Hold a doctoral-level qualification or equivalent experience in public health, health systems or related health discipline. 

  • Demonstrate advanced project planning and organisational skills across complex research or health service environments. 

  • Bring strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience with communities, services and multidisciplinary teams. 

  • Apply high-level analytical and research skills, including data management, evaluation and innovative problem solving. 

  • Communicate clearly through excellent written reports, presentations and culturally informed consultation with diverse audiences. 

  • Work effectively in distributed teams, balancing independent judgement with collaborative decision-making and guidance seeking

You will join Onemda, a dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Wellbeing centre. The team partners respectfully with communities and organisations to deliver integrated teaching, research, policy and programme innovation. You will be part of Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and Melbourne School of Health Sciences in a Faculty championing Indigenous Health excellence.
