Department Overview
Assemble finished product to racks or cabinets using rack drawings. Follow instructions on how to cable equipment in racks or cabinets. Set up computers and electrical components with the use written work instructions or assembly drawings and construct assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, wiring harnesses, cables, etc, in single or production quantities. Learn the inspection standards and criteria by utilizing documented inspections standards and processes.
Job Description

The Project Leader is responsible for managing their designated area on the production floor, ensuring that customer projects are staged and built according to requirements. This role involves directing and coordinating contract labor, managing materials, and maintaining communication to ensure projects stay on track. There is a long-term expectation of rotation to different manufacturing areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a dedicated staging area for customer projects, overseeing the entire system build process.

  • Provide work leadership, training, and coordination for junior-level staff and direct the activities of contract labor.

  • Be the primary internal contact for quality, ensuring all assignments meet standards.

  • Perform material handling and ensure the project remains on schedule.

  • Proactively communicate any issues or project roadblocks.

  • Attend weekly production meetings.

  • Demonstrate high flexibility and adaptability, as projects are varied and subject to changes based on field team and customer requirements (e.g., swapping out equipment, covering zones).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with using hand tools and preset torque drills for assembly.

  • Experience with handheld scanners for material movement and inventory (warehouse background is helpful).

  • General knowledge of reading drawings and performing non-heavy assembly.

  • General knowledge of server cabinets and routing Ethernet cable is highly helpful.

Skills & Technology: The ability to learn and interface with production systems, including the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and using laptops/spreadsheets for organization, is an expectation.

Target Base Salary Range: $39,600 - $66,100
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum one year Lead experience. 

  • Minimum two years experience in an assembly and or warehouse environment.
