JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Join the flight operations and training team at JT4, where you will collaborate with a diverse group of JT4 employees, Government Civilians, and Active-Duty Air Force service members at the Test Pilot School. In this Project Lead II role, you will be pivotal in managing, developing, and executing comprehensive aircrew training and standardization/evaluation (Stan/Eval) programs. This position requires a strategic and detail-oriented leader to ensure crew readiness, regulatory compliance, and mission alignment amidst evolving training requirements and test environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Program Management: Direct and oversee the lifecycle of ground and flight training requirements. You will manage training folders through the formal signature process, secure formal training tracks, coordinate higher headquarters (HHQ) waivers, and facilitate seamless onboarding and qualification processing for new students and staff.
  • Standardization & Evaluation (Stan/Eval) Policy: Develop and implement standardized flight operations policies and procedures for aircrew and test control personnel. You will ensure strict alignment and compliance with Air Force guidance on flight manual developments and squadron standards.
  • Qualifications & Readiness Review: Meticulously review training and Stan/Eval records to recommend acceptance of prior qualifications. You will design customized basic and mission qualification training plans to ensure crew members are fully prepared for operational missions.
  • High-Level Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as a key liaison to secure approvals for non-standard test requirements from Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) representatives and higher headquarters, directly enabling the successful execution of unique mission profiles.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

Project Lead II: The candidate in this position will be responsible for managing, developing, and executing comprehensive training and standardization for flight operations at the Test Pilot School. This role involves working closely with JT4 employees, Government Civilians, and Active-Duty Air Force service members to ensure personnel readiness, regulatory compliance, and seamless onboarding of new students and staff. The incumbent must possess strong program leadership abilities, exceptional attention to administrative detail, and excellent communication skills to coordinate qualification plans and liaise with high-level oversight representatives. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure compliance with rigorous quality and safety standards, manage operational flight publications, and secure necessary operational waivers to support continuous mission success.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Must have a bachelor’s or higher degree, or any combination of formal education, training and experience equivalent to eight years involvement in technically demanding program or project assignments. 

In addition, a Project Lead II must possess the following qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills in resource organization and allocation, planning and budgeting, continuous quality and process improvement, configuration management, setting and measurement of program goals
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 annually.

JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills, be able to work under deadlines, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The incumbent must be able to work duty days in excess of eight hours and perform shift and weekend work to meet required schedule demands.

This position may require travel.
