Modernization Interface Manager (Terminal Island, CA) (multiple positions)
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the implementation of all automation components (PLC, Remote I/O, Sensors, VFD, HMIs) to ensure efficient automated terminal operation.
- Coordinate the system integration, software test planning, testing and commissioning of straddle carriers and TMEIC CIS and Camco OCR cranes and oversee automation changes.
- Coordinate and review control system design and process requirements to develop software functional specifications for optimization/continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate and liaise with Project Teams, Operation Department, and Maintenance and Repair Teams to troubleshoot operational incidents, develop requirements, and support documentation and procedure generation efforts.
- Coordinate and align on feasibility of the modernization and automation products with technical teams.
- Facilitate the investigation of terminal incidents to find root cause of failure. Instruct mechanics and provide strategic guidance for hardware fixes for assigned automation projects.
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Management Information Systems, or related field, and 5 years' work experience in the job offered or in a related terminal automation position. Also requires 5 years of experience in the following utilizing PLCs, Remote I/O, optical scanners, lasers, proximity switches, and encoders in automated environments; managing on-site third-party vendors with deliverables and deadlines; utilizing Camco Crane and Gate OCR systems for terminals; working within a Cisco environment which includes switching, routing and wireless, with structured cabling and fiber optics; utilizing Kalmar fleet view and Camco OCR client to run automated container moves at terminals.
Must have unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S.

Salary: USD 147,755.00 to USD 170.000.00 per year
