Job Description Summary:
As a Project Engineering Director at GE Vernova you will be responsible for leading the technical execution of complex and large-scale HVDC projects in the energy sector, including power generation, transmission, and distribution. You will act as the main technical liaison between the customer and the project team, ensuring that engineering deliverables meet all technical, cost, and time requirements. Your leadership will drive cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client expectations and support the company’s commitment to excellence and sustainability.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall technical coordination and management of projects, ensuring efficient communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Ensure that all engineering designs are aligned with customer specifications, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  • Coordinate the design reviews and manage the engineering activities for all project work packages, focusing on large-scale, complex projects such as HVDC and FACTS systems.
  • Monitor project risks and opportunities, providing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.
  • Oversee document control and configuration management, ensuring all project documentation is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Manage technical interactions with subcontractors and ensure the integration of their deliverables with the overall project plan.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead Return on Experience (ROE) initiatives, capturing lessons learned for continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Extensive, long-standing engineering experience in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment, particularly in the power generation, transmission, and distribution sectors (T&D).
  • Technical Expertise: Mastery of key engineering processes, such as plant configuration, civil works, control and protection hardware, and electrical design.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects and inspire teams to achieve challenging goals.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical messages to customers and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to make informed decisions and resolve technical issues efficiently under pressure.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to travel globally for short to medium periods and work in diverse locations.
