Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and
execution of engineering projects within the Oil & Gas sector. This role
involves working closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other
stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and
to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with various engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical,
civil, etc.) to ensure project requirements are met.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project
execution.
2. Technical Support:
- Organize and direct all engineering forces in the project organization.
- Assist the Project Manager with the resolution of engineering
issues and determination of solutions.
-Coordinate engineering matters with the contractor and
subcontractors.
-Establish design engineering procedures.
-Organize and conduct 3D Moled Review with Client 30% - 60% -90%
100% and Close out Meeting
-Participate in weekly project meetings with Contractor.
-Review and approve engineering documents i.e. drawings,
specifications and requisitions.
-Plan and direct receiving, distribution, and filing of drawings and
specifications through the -Document Controller.
-Assure the latest drawings and other engineering documents are
maintained and accessible to all personnel in the offices.
-Assure the drawings and other engineering documents issued
accessible to all concerned personnel on site.
-Assure development of complete engineering records for the project
record.
-Authorize requisitions for materials and subcontracting in regard
to technical matters.
Report change/supplemental work related to engineering to the
Control Group.
-Prepare description of change proposal related to engineering
scope.
-Ensure that engineering work proceeds in accordance with the
quality assurance plan.
-Review all non-conformance and concession reports.
3.Project Execution:
- Monitor project progress and performance against the project plan.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery.
- Conduct regular site visits to oversee construction and installation activities.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, logs, and records.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and management.
- Ensure all project documentation is completed and archived appropriately.
6. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or related
field).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering within the Oil &
Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management methodologies,
and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, MS Excel).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with offshore and onshore oil and gas projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
- Knowledge of SPID, SPI, SP3D, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other engineering design software.
