A Civil Engineer – QA/QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control) is responsible for ensuring that construction work meets required quality standards, specifications, and project requirements.Job Description
1. Quality Assurance Responsibilities
• Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans for
construction projects.
• Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and
contract documents.
• Prepare Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and method statements.
• Review project quality procedures and ensure compliance with project standards.
2. Inspection & Testing
• Conduct site inspections for civil works such as concrete, reinforcement,
formwork, masonry, and finishing works.
• Ensure all materials used at site are approved and tested as per specifications.
• Coordinate with laboratories for material testing (cement, steel, concrete cube
tests, aggregates, etc.).
• Verify field density tests, slump tests, cube casting, and other quality checks.
3. Documentation
• Maintain QA/QC documentation such as inspection reports, checklists, test
reports, and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
• Maintain material approval records and test certificates.
4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
• Identify quality issues and deviations from specifications.
• Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and ensure corrective actions are
implemented.
• Monitor rectification work and ensure compliance.
5. Coordination
• Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, contractors, and project
managers for quality-related matters.
6. Compliance & Standards
• Ensure construction activities follow relevant codes, standards, and safety
requirements.
• Monitor adherence to ISO quality standards and project quality procedures.
About You:
• Knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures
• Understanding of IS codes and quality standards
• Ability to prepare inspection reports and QA/QC documentation
• Good communication and coordination skills
• B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering
• 6–8 years’ experience in construction quality control (depending on role)
