Job Description

Project Engineer- MEP

  • This role is responsible for leading end-to-end project planning and controls, from baseline development through monitoring and close-out, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and statutory requirements.

About the Role:

  • Serve as the central technical coordination point for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering activities, ensuring seamless alignment between design consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Lead the development and detailing of MEP scope, including system design reviews, technical assessments, material specifications, equipment selection, and interface planning—ensuring all engineering requirements are accurately translated into executable site activities.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architecture, civil, structural, interior, and planning) to ensure all MEP design, procurement, and installation activities are fully integrated into overall project plans and aligned with project objectives, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular MEP Coordination & Technical Review Meetings to track engineering progress, identify design clashes, monitor procurement and installation readiness, resolve technical issues, and ensure incorporation of approved design changes into construction workflows.

General Responsibilities

  • Evaluate MEP design packages, shop drawings, equipment specifications, and installation methodologies for technical feasibility, constructability, safety compliance, and alignment with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor MEP execution progress using checklists, inspection reports, progress trackers, and coordinated drawings to identify delays, quality deviations, interface issues, and installation risks—and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Support procurement planning by tracking MEP long‑lead items such as HVAC equipment, electrical panels, pumps, fire‑fighting systems, and specialized materials—ensuring timely approvals, manufacturing, dispatch, and delivery to maintain continuous site workflow.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections to verify actual installation status, validate progress claimed by contractors, assess productivity of MEP teams, identify coordination clashes, and ensure execution aligns with approved drawings and method statements.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive MEP documentation—including material approval logs, equipment schedules, inspection & test plans (ITPs), installation checklists, progress reports, as‑built mark‑ups, and commissioning readiness reports—to support project governance and decision-making.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in project management for large-scale, mixed-use Commercial projects within a PMC, developer, or consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, contract administration, construction methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in MIS/reporting systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive teams toward timely and quality project delivery.
