Job Description

As a Project Engineer specializing in automation control systems, you will design and implement advanced solutions for the Pulp and Paper industry. This role combines technical expertise in system engineering—spanning hardware, software, and integration—with leadership responsibilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in driving customer success through innovative system design, team coordination, and hands-on project execution.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work remotely.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer requirements to determine optimal control system solutions and define appropriate control configurations and architectures.
  • Perform conceptual design of control systems, including strategy development and programming design.
  • Provide on-site control system start-up support as required.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor resources for projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare and deliver verbal and written reports to communicate project status; actively participate in project review meetings.
  • Visit internal and external panel manufacturing facilities to assess progress, provide technical assistance, and conduct final inspections and sign-offs.
  • Serve as primary liaison with clients and management, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player, integrating seamlessly with other project team members.
  • Review project hardware and software for compliance with applicable codes and standards, ensuring personnel and machinery safety practices are fully implemented.
  • Represent the company by attending and presenting technical papers at industry symposiums and trade shows, as applicable.
  • Coordinate customer requirements with engineering and other departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Drive Systems Experience.
  • Pulp and Paper Experience.
  • Rockwell Automation Drive and ControlLogix Experience.
  • Auto Cad Experience.
