We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support our North West Operations, covering our manufacturing sites in Stubbins, Skelmersdale and Oakenholt, as we continue to deliver ambitious improvement plans across the region.
About the Role
As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the set-up and planning of new projects across the mills following Capex approval. You’ll manage delivery through to completion, working with external stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage engineering projects across multiple sites, from concept through to completion.
- Facilitate project management calls, mitigate risks, and ensure quality control throughout.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret needs, provide updates, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Partner with production departments, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and Essity’s safety standards.
Who You Are
You’ll bring proven experience in managing projects up to £1 million in a production process environment. Ideally, you’ll have a civil engineering, papermaking, converting, electrical / mechanical engineering background and be familiar with SIL, HAZID, HAZOP, and PTW systems. You’ll also be confident in compiling project documentation including Scope of Work specifications, RAMS, ITPs, and Risk Registers.
Key skills and attributes include:
- Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with experience in MS Project, SAP, and AutoCAD desirable
- Awareness of Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing best practices
- Degree-level Engineering qualification and/or project management certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong time management
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple disciplines
- Goal-oriented and solutions-focused, with the ability to influence effectively
