Role Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates the manufacturing of highly Engineered pumps and mechanical seals for the Nuclear industry. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production. Analyzes and improves quality, cost, and delivery by using Lean and Six Sigma tools. Provides engineering support in production departments by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpretation of customer specifications.
- Specifies and acquires factory supplies that reduce costs and improve effectiveness.
- Material selection to meet customer project requirements.
- Technical project lead responsibility including creating complete engineering bills of material and customer/part design drawings.
- Meeting and managing project schedule milestones for engineering deliverables.
- Troubleshoots process and equipment minimizing delays in production schedules.
- Interfacing with and supporting other functions to provide technical guidance.
- Leads design reviews to ensure components & assemblies comply with customer specifications and design requirements.
- Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.
- Understanding and leveraging product design standards.
- Performing calculations and analysis in support of design efforts.
- Effectively identifying and communicating technical risks.
- Reviewing and approving vendor drawings and documents.
- Supporting technical discussions with customers and other key functional areas.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in relevant field and 5-7 years relevant experience (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Experience working in a custom-engineered manufacturing environment.
- Experience using SolidWorks or other similar CAD software for the creation of 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience with ASME B&PV Section III Code & ASME Y14.5 is preferred.
- Experience in the design and manufacture of centrifugal pumps and/or mechanical seals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced geometry, trigonometry, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving/decision-making skills and the ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions.
- Familiarity with all applicable industry guidelines and regulations governing the commercial Nuclear Industry (ASME, API, HI, 10CFR50, 10CFR21, etc)
The pay range for this position is 101,602.50 - 152,527.96 USD Annual
