Description of Order Engineering department responsibilities:
Order Engineering department is responsible of fulfilling the engineering requirements when an order is received, and customize the design to fulfill customer needs, including:
- Hydraulic review to adapt existing products to customer needs
- Review of technical specifications and other technical documentation in the purchase order and quotation, to define the modifications needed to the product to fulfill order requirements
- Creation of Customer required drawings (General Arrangement drawing, Cross Sectional drawing, P&ID, etc) to integrate Flowserve equipment in customer installations
- Creation of technical specifications of Buy-Outs (motors, couplings, mechanical seals, variable speed couplings, lube oil systems, filters, special valves, etc)
- Definition and execution of the mechanical design of the equipment
- Creation of Pump Layout drawings
- Performing the Design Review
- Creation of detail Manufacturing Drawings according Flowserve and Product guidelines and standards, for both pump and systems
- Creation of Bill of Materials
- Creation of contractual Technical Documentation for customer information, customer comments, or approval
- Technical support to quotations related to pump and systems
- Support other departments (Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing) of the Site in charge of manufacturing the equipment, during the execution of the order
- Support during the commissioning and warranty period of the equipment
Project Engineer responsibilities:
The Engineer is part of the Order Engineering department, and has the following responsibilities:
- Design the equipment following Flowserve standards and customer specifications
- Hydraulic review
- Review of technical specifications and other technical documentation
- Creation and transmission of design instructions to Design Engineers in charge of creating the drawings
- Technical coordination of engineering roles assigned to the order
- Creation of technical specifications of Buy-Outs
- Creation of contractual customer Technical Documentation (including performance curves, datasheets, P&ID, etc)
- Technical support to quotations
- Support Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing Site
- Support during the commissioning and warranty period
The candidates should have:
Required
Ø A Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Ø Experience with Turbomachinery (3 years minimum)
Ø Working knowledge of CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Ø Advance knowledge of Ms Excel, and ability to be able to take real benefit from the computer tools to gain efficiency in the daily work
Ø Fluent in English and Spanish in both verbal and written communication is required; other languages are a plus
Ø Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ø Acting as a team player. Persistent, creative and service mentality are also important skills
Ø Readiness to travel internationally in a percentage of 10% approx
Desirable
Ø Experience in Design or calculation of Turbomachinery
Ø Experience in Manufacturing environment
Ø Experience with programming around Ms Office applications
Ø Continuous improvement skills (Lean)
Ø Risk Assessment experience in technical background
Ø Customer oriented, experience in front of customers to solve technical issues
Skills Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Proficiency in CAD, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor
- Industrial experience in product development and design
- Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with employees, customers, and global business groups
- Collaborative, self-directed approach with ability to work under minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum five years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of ANSYS, CFD, or FEA
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes
