Job Description:

Cloudpoint Geospatial is looking for a Project Engineer to support our project delivery team and grow into increasing project management responsibility. The Project Engineer will apply their civil engineering experience and knowledge on a variety of projects, support multiple project managers, perform quality assurance and quality control, and learn and apply GIS concepts and workflows. The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical, self-motivated engineer who can manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth, expanded responsibilities, and career advancement as the company continues to grow.

Preferred Experience:

·       Civil engineering design or consulting experience

·       Experience working on multiple projects or assignments with competing deadlines

·       Experience with quality assurance/quality control of engineering or technical work

·       Exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a demonstrated ability to learn GIS concepts quickly

·       Experience using technical design or engineering software

·       Interest in developing toward project management responsibilities

Functions:

·       Apply civil engineering knowledge to project assignments.

·       Support multiple project managers and project teams across a variety of projects.

·       Perform QA/QC on work products before delivery to project managers or clients.

·       Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

·       Learn and apply GIS concepts, tools, and company workflows.

·       Communicate project information clearly through email, Slack, Trello, and other internal channels.

·       Work independently on assigned tasks while seeking direction when appropriate.

·       Contribute to improving project workflows, quality, and efficiency.

·       Develop technical, client-service, and project-management skills with the goal of taking on increasing project responsibility.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field

·       Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a license within 1 year

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·       Sound judgment and ability to make appropriate decisions within assigned responsibilities

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

·       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines

·       Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to learn new technical concepts

·       Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

·       Ability to provide on-site assistance to Central Illinois clients at least weekly 

Work Context:

·       Frequent work operating a computer in an office or home-office setting.

·       Combination of office and remote work, with regular access to the Peoria area required.

·       May occasionally require fieldwork, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.

·       Frequently communicates with coworkers, project managers, clients, and other project stakeholders and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information.
