In this position... 

Facility Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical design for various facility types within Ford Motor Company portfolio of buildings.

 

This engineering position is responsible for the electrical engineering design for various facility types within Ford Motor Company portfolio of buildings.  The individual is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) as relates to building codes, regulatory requirements, modularization, commodity strategies, technology advances and sustainable designs for Ford Motor Company.  Candidate must have good communication skills for interactions with internal clients, architectural and engineering firms, contractors and building officials to develop and successfully meet the requirements of a project.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Provide SME support with master planning, scope development and design review of construction projects.

  • Work with Architectural Engineering firms to develop design and construction documents for Ford facilities.

  • Identify and evaluate new technology, construction methods, and materials to maximize capital investment efficiency and sustainability in corporate infrastructure programs.

  • Manage interactions with government authorities/municipalities/agencies to ensure that facilities comply with local codes, laws and recommended practices.

  • Support and maintain positive relationships with communities in which we operate to enhance long-term working relationship with community officials.

  • Drive the standardization of global processes. Lead in the continuous improvement of facility standards, specifications and technical innovation. Collaborative interaction with Ford Land engineering teams is required.

  • Provide collaborative SME support during design and construction activities to complete projects on time and in budget.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited university.

  • Knowledge and experience in all engineering aspects of buildings and facilities.

  • AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks experience.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) - Registered or on path to registration preferred.

  • Strong record of technical innovation/contribution/leadership.

  • Evidence of continuous growth in technical capabilities and expertise.

  • Independent worker and capable of delivering multiple project commitments concurrently.

  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

This position is a salary grade 5 through 8 and ranges from $65,100 - $166,200.    

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

 

Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
