Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Customer Solutions Delivery (CSD) team at our TOMRA Food office in Valencia, Spain. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of customer projects across our food sorting and processing portfolio. This will involve factory layouts, machine peripherals and bespoke project-related items. Working alongside colleagues in Sales, Operations, Procurement, Project Management and Service teams from concept design through commissioning.
You will:
- Scope projects and develop cost estimates for bespoke customer solutions during the quotation stage.
- Review customer specifications and support compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct on-site risk assessments and follow up on installation-related actions.
- Develop 3D model concepts using SolidWorks.
- Create 2D plant layouts using AutoCAD.
- The creation of project-specific P&ID’s, electrical connections lists and third-party integration interfaces.
- Conduct site visits to obtain measurements and assess installation requirements.
- Maintain engineering documentation for new designs and design modifications.
- Simultaneously oversee multiple customer engineering projects, across the range of TOMRA FOOD portfolio.
- Produce manufacturing, service and technical documentation.
- Support engineering change processes and documentation control.
- Partner with Sales, Service and Production teams to support successful project delivery.
This position requires travel of up to 20% to customer sites and other TOMRA locations. A valid driving license is required.

QualificationsWhat You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a design-related engineering role.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D technical drawing.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks is required.
- Experience in the food industry or a similar industry can be developed further in the role.
- Experience creating engineering documentation and technical drawings.
- Spanish and English language proficiency is required.
- Valid driving license.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze technical challenges and develop practical solutions.
