Lead engineering for solar mini-grid projects: perform site assessments, develop scope, designs, schedules and BOMs, coordinate procurement, supervise installation and commissioning, provide technical troubleshooting, report progress, manage risks, and drive process improvements.

- Collaborate with the project delivery team to develop project scope, plans, schedules, and budgets for solar mini-grid installations.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies in coordination with internal and external stakeholders to determine optimal system design and layout for solar projects.
- Work closely with Design Engineers to prepare detailed engineering designs, including electrical schematics, equipment specifications, and bill of materials required for solar projects.
- Coordinate procurement activities with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of necessary equipment and materials.
- Provide regular project implementation updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of solar systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance during project implementation and post-installation support.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and develop response actions to mitigate negative impacts.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and delivery of solar projects.
- Proficiency in CAD and Solar Design Simulation Software.
- Willingness to travel to project sites in various locations as required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated problem-solving capability.
- Passion for leveraging renewable energy for sustainable development in communities.
