Due to an internal promotion, we are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer for our Smithton (Tasmania) site who will be responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of capital improvement projects within the site. This includes the development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments. This role works with the plant leadership team to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
About the role
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects in the plant, including equipment installations, process improvements, and facility expansions
- Apply you understanding of the site 5 year capex planning, focusing on safety improvements, obsolescence planning, asset life extension and technology based innovations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, scope & deliverables.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and share recommended mitigation strategies
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
About you
- 3+ years' experience working in a FMCG company
- Bachelor of engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related area
- High level of computer literacy and ability to analyse data
- Lean manufacturing experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, MDI
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Contractor management
