Qualifications & Skills
- A minimum of 7 years of construction management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
- American Society of Interior Designers, American Institute of Architects, or other relevant A/E/C certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with field and office personnel.
- Experience managing complex new construction or renovation projects in a commercial environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team as necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products (excel, word, teams, etc.).
- Knowledge of building systems to include MEP, interior finishes, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, interpret contract terms and conditions.
- Experience with estimating, scheduling, and tracking project performance.
- Experience working in a federal government setting.
- Experience with leased office space preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties
- As part of a diverse group of facilities, design, and construction professionals supporting a Government client,
- the Construction Project Engineer will manage all work related to interior improvements.
- Manage architectural and engineering firms, suppliers, and construction contractors as necessary to execute project goals.
- Develop and manage project schedules in MS Project or similar software.
- Support the greater team in a broad range of building management services including space management,
- facilities and equipment maintenance, energy conservation, and system furniture planning and installation.
- Ensure contractor performance is conducted in compliance with all applicable OSHA standards and quality control guidelines.
- Monitor and oversee the project design or construction effort, to include but not limited to risk management, security and safety compliance, etc.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of construction submittals and construction contract documents.
- Provide project administration and contract administration duties, including records management.
