This role provides deep technical expertise in LMR (Land, Mobile & Radio) security systems, specialising in RF design, system configuration, complex troubleshooting, and optimisation. You will be responsible for the technical integrity and performance of LMR solutions from design to deployment.
Personnel performing embedded project engineering and design services will be responsible for:
- Design Phase:
- Producing complete, accurate, and installable design packages, including floor plans, schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, termination details, and panel elevations.
- Ensuring designs adhere to client standards, CPTED principles, and building codes.
- Completing programming forms required for system commissioning.
- Attending review meetings to integrate feedback and adapt designs for unique site conditions.
- Installation Phase:
- Developing detailed construction schedules for security activities and leading coordination meetings.
- Serving as the central point of contact for security requirements with major trades.
- Ensuring procurement and installation of all equipment and materials according to design and compliance standards.
- Managing permits, licences, and union jurisdiction issues without impacting schedule or budget.
- Overseeing installation quality and cooperating with third-party testing and inspections.
- Closeout Phase:
- Coordinating system programming, performing pre-installation signoffs, and overseeing testing and calibration.
- Demonstrating system operations for final acceptance.
- Preparing and submitting final O&M manuals and as-built documents.
- Providing training for security, facility, and technical staff where required.
- Proven LMR technical expertise.
- RF design/software certification (e.g., iBwave or similar), Level 2 or higher.
- Exposure to radio operations deployment.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a technical design position.
- Experience with analog, digital (e.g., P25, DMR, TETRA), and DAS system design and processes.
- AutoCAD experience.
- BIM365 experience.
- BLUEBEAM experience.
