Project Director
Overview
We’re looking for a Project Director who can bring together strong team leadership, excellent client delivery, and calm operational control in a fast-moving agency environment.
This is a central role within dentsu Creative in Helsinki, where you will help shape the way the team works, support the development of a small team of Project Managers, and keep selected client accounts moving smoothly.

Make an impact
As Project Director, you will play a key role within dentsu Creative, working as part of a close-knit team within a broader multidisciplinary environment. This is a dual role with responsibility for both team leadership and client delivery. You will line manage and develop a small team of Project Managers, shape how the team works day to day, and help build the operational backbone of the agency through strong ways of working, tools, and internal practices. At the same time, you will manage selected client accounts, ensuring projects run smoothly, remain commercially sound, and are delivered to a high standard. Success in this role means building a motivated, high-performing team, driving strong client satisfaction and profitability and growth on your own accounts, and bringing fresh, forward-looking energy into a changing environment.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Lead and develop the project management processes and team
- Act as team lead for a small team of Project Managers
- Take care of clients also directly in a client-facing role
- Handle resourcing and invoicing
- Follow project process profitability
- Take responsibility for the profitability of your own client accounts
- Lead projects and project teams across client work
- Support the development of a new operating model together with the Business Director
- Contribute hands-on across campaign planning, concepts, branding, and campaign asset delivery
Key requirements
- Creative agency background and clear understanding of agency life and processes
- Senior-level experience in project and/or account management
- Previous experience in a client-facing role with responsibility for managing accounts and commercial performance
- Experience in leading project teams, with readiness to take on people leadership responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with many parallel projects
- Strong structuring and organisational skills, with the ability to keep a cool head under pressure
- Experience across integrated deliveries, including video production and social media
- Brand experience & event production experience is considered a plus
- Positive, energetic mindset with the ability to bring good energy and joy to daily work
- Comfortable working in a small, tight-knit team where everyone takes ownership and works hands-on
- Finnish and English language skills are required
