The Capital Division at NYC Parks is responsible for managing the design, construction and administration of capital projects to expand, improve and revitalize NYC Parks’ public spaces.
Major Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Chief of Capital Strategic Initiatives, and with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, coordinate and support division wide delivery strategies and service as a centralized point of support.
- Serve as a Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) control point for project and program data shared internally and externally, develop protocol to flag data inaccuracies and ensure timely corrections and updates.
- Prepare training materials and ensure that Division staff are informed on and engaged with the systems that support and expedite the Capital process, assess and respond to training and education needs across the division.
- Create presentation materials that comply with Agency standards and convey complex concepts to support decision making; brainstorm and storyboard messaging with senior staff.
- Guide stakeholder communication, especially on multi-division projects and Capital-specific information that impacts other division projects.
- Support the Chief of Capital Strategic Initiatives on special projects and the implementation of pilot innovations intended to improve the capital process.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
