The Role

Description

Cogniac is on a mission to innovate how industrial companies conduct visual inspection tasks. Our software leverages the latest in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to make computer vision easier, faster and more accurate. Our customers include well-known auto makers, rail companies, and federal government agencies.  

A key member of the Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Coordinator supports the development of and performs the management, updates, and refinement of the project schedules for the implementation of Cogniac solutions, using the fundamentals and advanced application of generally-accepted, good project scheduling practices. The Project Coordinator creates and maintains schedules for new solution and system development from proposal development through launch for complex products and processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, Systems and Solutions Engineers; work with cross-functional teams to develop, refine, and manage the overall project work breakdown structure and integrated master schedule to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, and in accordance with internal and external market requirements.
  • Develop and perform critical path analyses to manage product / project critical paths, establish project priorities, and identify means to accelerate timelines, reduce costs, and/or mitigate risks.
  • Perform the timely collection and implementation of periodic schedule status updates in the integrated master schedule; communicate status updates to the PMO and functional or senior management levels as needed.
  • Analyze the impact and extent of schedule variances.
  • Generate custom tables, filters, views, reports, and higher-level (single-page) schedules to best communicate project progress and priorities to the cross-functional team and senior management.
  • Use schedule resource loading to determine appropriate staffing levels and costs for the project.
  • Develop processes and best practices for managing the master schedule to ensure it remains current.
  • Work directly with core team leads and extended team members to communicate current schedule priorities and to refine their schedules.



Requirements


  • At least 3 years related technical experience and/or training and a proven track record of managing a project schedule from inception to delivery
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Experienced developing critical near-term (~3 month) and longer-term (1+ year) schedules
  • Highly proficient with project management scheduling tools, including Smartsheet, MS Project, etc
  • Experienced scheduling complex and innovative development projects and collecting updates from team members
  • Strong ability to analyze assigned projects, break down work into functional disciplines, and develop plans for the work to be accomplished
  • Strong command of Generally Accepted Scheduling Principles
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated “driver/go-getter” mindset, coupled with effective time management skills
  • Strong team player who utilizes strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members
  • Independent self-starter with initiative
  • Effective multi-tasker and change agent
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineer, or related field
  • Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall product development methods
  • Ability to author Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros
  • Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge 6
  • Experience exporting from Smartsheet, MS Project, etc. to applications such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with other Project Management toolsets
  • Specific experience with software development and industrial products desired.
