Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Project Coordinator to our team, based Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Director, Transmission Western Canada, we are seeking an experienced Construction Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and delivery of large electrical transmission projects, including project scheduling, cost tracking, and communication between field construction staff and design engineers. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and track project schedules, milestones, and execution plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams on daily production reporting and subcontractor coordination
  • Analyze data from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to aid in the development of procurement strategies that optimize costs, quality, and lead times
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
  • Report on project financial performance
  • Maintain and distribute project documentation including daily reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with project closeout activities including compiling as-built documentation, warranty records, final inspection reports, and turnover packages for handoff to the owner or asset management team
  • Compile and manage daily reporting to the client by compiling daily field reports
  • Coordinate and monitor daily construction activities ensuring work is progressing in alignment with the project schedule, scope, and quality standards
  • Review and distribute engineering drawings, design changes, and technical specifications to field teams, confirming that the latest document revisions are being always used on site
  • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and non-conformance reports, following up with engineering and project management to ensure timely responses and close-out of outstanding technical items
  • Support the development and maintenance of project schedules by coordinating with crew forepersons and subcontractors to capture progress updates
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and scope adherence, reviewing daily production against contract requirements and escalating deviations to the project manager for corrective action.
  • Assist with health, safety, and environmental compliance on site, participating in safety walks, ensuring JHAs and pre-task plans are completed, and coordinating with the HSE team to address field observations and incident reporting

Requirements
  • Post-Secondary education in a related field
  • 3 years of experience in a project coordination role within the construction industry, with a demonstrated understanding of project management concepts and tools
  • Previous construction industry experience

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Working towards Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience supporting Electrical Infrastructure projects
