Project Coordinator
Location: Maryland Heights, MO
Job Type: Full-time, in-office
Compensation: Starting at $65,000 annually plus 10% annual incentive opportunity. Actual starting pay will be based on experience, skills, and overall qualifications.
About the Role
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to help drive product development projects from concept through production release. This role serves as the central point of coordination for schedules, communication, risk management, and project execution across multiple departments.
This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys organization, problem solving, collaboration, and keeping complex projects moving forward. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure projects remain on track, stakeholders stay informed, and business objectives are achieved.
What You'll Do
Project Coordination and Execution
- Coordinate new product development projects from concept through commercialization and production launch
- Maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and action item tracking
- Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, resource constraints, and potential delays
- Support project planning activities, timeline development, and project reporting
- Help ensure projects stay aligned with business objectives and development requirements
Risk Management and Issue Resolution
- Facilitate project risk identification and assessment activities
- Develop and track risk mitigation plans with cross functional teams
- Monitor projects for emerging issues and ensure timely escalation when needed
- Maintain project health metrics and escalation triggers
- Help teams proactively address challenges before they impact project success
Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate project meetings and document key decisions and action items
- Prepare and distribute project status reports and dashboards
- Ensure stakeholders understand project status, priorities, risks, and key decisions
- Provide visibility into project progress and performance metrics
- Support alignment across departments and project teams
Process Improvement and Governance
- Support stage gate and product development processes
- Lead gate review activities for product development projects
- Maintain project documentation, records, and change logs
- Help improve project management standards, tools, and best practices
- Promote a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and other teams
- Coordinate activities across multiple functions to support successful project delivery
- Support design reviews, production readiness activities, and development milestones
- Help ensure teams have the information and resources needed to execute effectively
Travel
- Minimal travel may be required occasionally
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience coordinating projects in a product development, engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment
- Experience managing project schedules, milestones, and cross functional activities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience identifying project risks and supporting issue resolution
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft 365
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions
Preferred
- Experience supporting new product development or stage gate development processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and production launches
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies including FMEA and risk registers
- CAPM, PMP, or similar project management certification
- Engineering or technical product development experience
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Ability to occasionally work in laboratory and manufacturing environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed
- Occasional travel may require air and ground transportation
