KBR is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the successful execution of Offshore Oil & Gas projects, particularly within the FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) sector. This role is responsible for coordinating project activities, managing interfaces between stakeholders, supporting project controls, and ensuring project deliverables are completed in accordance with client requirements, project schedules, and company procedures.
The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between Clients, Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams while contributing to project planning, risk management, change management, and procurement coordination activities. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years related experience, with average experience of 10-15 years.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor project activities in accordance with approved project procedures, systems and client requirements.
· Support Project Managers in the execution and control of offshore/FPSO projects through all project phases.
· Maintain day-to-day communication with Clients and ensure timely resolution of project-related issues.
· Coordinate internal and external project interfaces across engineering, procurement, vendors, contractors and client teams.
· Monitor project progress and ensure project deliverables are completed in line with approved schedules and milestones.
· Track project actions, deliverables, and performance indicators, escalating issues that may impact project execution.
· Support the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, progress reports, budgets, and forecasts.
· Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination to ensure alignment across engineering disciplines.
· Assist in the implementation and administration of the Management of Change (MOC) process.
· Support risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
· Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on project progress, risks, and key actions.
· Support proposal development activities and project planning efforts as required.
· Assist with budget monitoring and cost tracking activities to support project objectives.
Mechanical Equipment Procurement Coordination
· Serve as the focal point for Mechanical Equipment procurement coordination activities.
· Coordinate and participate in:
o Bid clarification meetings
o Procurement status review meetings
o Vendor kick-off meetings
o Progress and follow-up discussions with suppliers and contractors
· Liaise with Mechanical Package Engineers, Procurement teams, Vendors and Client Engineers to ensure effective communication and timely delivery of equipment.
· Monitor procurement activities and support the resolution of technical and commercial issues affecting project schedules.
· Track vendor deliverables and ensure procurement milestones are achieved.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
· Experience in Project Coordination, Project Engineering or Project Management support within the Oil & Gas industry.
· Knowledge of Offshore Oil & Gas design and engineering principles, preferably within FPSO projects.
· Experience coordinating Mechanical Equipment procurement activities and vendor interfaces.
· Understanding of multidisciplinary engineering and offshore project execution processes.
· Strong organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Experience supporting project scheduling, budgeting, change management, and risk management activities.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working on Offshore, FPSO, EPC or EPCI projects.
· Knowledge of digital project delivery methodologies.
· Familiarity with fabrication, construction, and procurement activities within offshore projects.
· Previous experience managing engineering and procurement interfaces.
Technical Skills
· Working knowledge of Offshore/FPSO engineering and project execution practices.
· Familiarity with engineering and design tools, including:
o 3D CAD
o Intelligent P&IDs
o SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation)
o SPE (SmartPlant Electrical)
o Navisworks
· Knowledge of digital engineering and project delivery systems is preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project coordination/reporting tools.
