As a Restaurant Opening Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of restaurant opening planning projects. The role will consist of coordinating, project management and execution of various tasks related to facility design, construction, and renovation projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as development, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and franchisees, to ensure projects are completed on time, meeting organizational standards and requirements. You will also interact and coordinate with multiple internal functions, including operations, training, and supply chain.
You will drive the timely opening of restaurants by coordinating projects including preparation of various documentation, including Site Approval Packages, completion of various templates, adherence to technical specifications, investment review, timeline management and other technical support for the development and execution of IHOP and Applebee's restaurants. Project management, organization, communications, change management and ability to influence are key success criteria to fulfill this function.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- The Restaurant Opening Projects Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the entire lifecycle of assigned projects in his/her area, up until the point of transition to the Operations and Training teams for the remaining of the opening project(s).
- Develop construction timelines, specifications, and scope of work to assemble a complete set of documents necessary for the project of new openings, drive and monitor key times and completion of tasks to support timely openings. Identify and address any risks.
- Provide technical support to the development execution teams that include (Site approval form, timeline format, follow-up meetings, project transition checklist)
- Respond to requests regarding clarification of intent, building and equipment specifications, specifications of alternative materials
- Effectively deal with frequent changes and ambiguity in projects, incorporate feedback from the field and cross functional groups, align with other functional groups to modify specifications, oversee feedback processes from end users regarding construction plans
- Build a database of historical operational changes for future projects
- Collaboration to build and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders, including internal teams, vendors, contractors, etc. to ensure seamless coordination and successful project execution
- Coordinate and assign small tasks to junior team members to ensure efficient project execution and time management
- Up to 30% of travel within America.
