JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Tribal Public Relations, the Public Relations Project Coordinator will work with the Tribal Public Relations team to complete various public relations projects. The PR Project Coordinator will also assist in event planning, preparation, and execution of external PR events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)


  • Assist with executing PR events, including event planning and setup, product pick-up and delivery, and various other event duties.
  • Coordinate equipment/inventory of supplies necessary for events and special projects.
  • Type, proofread, and process various documents, including general correspondence, reports, letters, memoranda, and invoices; prepare spreadsheets in Excel and forms from rough drafts or verbal instructions as assigned. 
  • Prepare and disseminate project-related information to appropriate departments, vendors, and others in a clear, concise, and timely manner
  • Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to prepare reports and documents
  • Must comply with all applicable standard operating procedures and Tribal Regulations. Documents and reports all exceptions/variations/deviations immediately upon awareness.
  • Order, purchase and label supplies and equipment for the Department.
  • Administrative duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience relevant experience in events, communication, or marketing and/or a related discipline
  • Must have good PC skills with intermediate ability to use MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate to all levels of management, Tribal Membership, visitors, and employees in verbal/written form.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision and multiple interruptions.
  • Legal background preferred.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move, and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.

 

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift, carry, or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis and have sufficient dexterity of hand to use office equipment including, but not limited to; a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone. 

 

Must be able to travel 35% of the time in and out of the Palm Springs, California, area.

Skills Required
