SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Project Coordinator to support an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.
Position Overview Section
The Project Coordinator provides administrative, analytical, and project management support for research and operational programs supporting the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). Working closely with Principal Investigators (PIs), government personnel, and multidisciplinary teams, the Project Coordinator assists with planning, coordinating, tracking, and documenting research and program activities while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This position supports project execution from initiation through completion by coordinating documentation, monitoring project milestones, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and maintaining project records.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and management of research programs and projects, including drafting project documentation, coordinating institutional approvals, monitoring project schedules and spending plans, and supporting technical program reviews.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and report project, research, and study data to support program objectives.
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs), project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate project activities and monitor progress.
- Maintain regulatory documentation and assist with obtaining and managing Institutional Review Board (IRB), Human Research Protection Office (HRPO), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and data sharing agreements.
- Maintain complete audit trails and documentation to ensure compliance with approved research protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project activities to identify issues, inconsistencies, or protocol deviations; document adverse events; and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
- Assist with the preparation of protocol amendments, study modifications, and supporting regulatory documentation.
- Schedule meetings, coordinate subject matter experts, conduct literature reviews, and manage document reviews and clearances in accordance with Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) requirements.
- Assist in drafting, editing, and preparing scholarly publications, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, technical reports, and presentation materials.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, tracking spreadsheets, databases, reports, and presentation materials.
- Attend meetings with government personnel, program managers, academic partners, clinicians, and other stakeholders, documenting action items and tracking follow-up activities.
- Protect sensitive information and maintain compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Department of Defense, and USAFSAM regulations, including the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Minimum Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or a related scientific discipline.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience supporting scientific research, analytical programs, project coordination, or related activities.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining attention to detail and organizational accuracy.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams consisting of researchers, clinicians, scientists, and government personnel.
- Familiarity with research compliance processes, including IRB, HRPO, IACUC, IBC, or similar regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting logistics, inventory, or equipment management within a scientific, laboratory, healthcare, or technical environment.
- Experience preparing technical reports, scientific publications, or presentation materials.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense research environments or federal research programs is preferred.
