Job Summary
The Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of project controls activities across a portfolio of Distribution capital projects and programs. This role oversees integrated cost management, scheduling, risk management, change control and performance reporting to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and align with organizational objectives.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, develop and inspire a team including supervisors and individual contributors during a critical time of building a project controls team to support the Distribution organization
- Lead the implementation and sustainment of project controls in appropriate Distribution capital programs
- Ensure appropriate integration of project controls components of cost, schedule, risk, change and reporting to support effective capital deployment
- Create sustainable project controls process and practices to support the Distribution capital portfolio in current growth with a mindset of scalability
- Lead communication of Distribution project controls recommendations, outcomes and decisions
- Identify opportunities to enhance and/or innovate processes to create efficiencies and implement solutions
- Ensure that processes are aligned with governance framework and structures
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with Distribution capital program owners, Power Delivery Capital Governance, Distribution Portfolio Management, Project Shared Services and Accounting, Finance and Treasury (AFT).
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or other relevant disciple preferred
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience
- Executive level presentation skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication of complex concepts
- Strong understanding of capital project lifecycles
- Experience in one or more areas preferred: project controls, program/project management, finance, risk management
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to deliver high quality outcomes
- Advanced analytical and financial acumen
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization
- Proven ability and determination to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

- Working knowledge of JETS estimating software, Oracle Project, Primavera P6, Contruent and SOAR a plus

Other Requirements
- Successful candidate must be available to support storm duty
- Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance from work location
- This position can require some travel – approximately 25% per year
