At Sedgman, we deliver some of the world’s most complex mineral processing projects, supporting clients across the global resources and critical minerals sectors.

As Project Controls Manager, you will lead the systems, coordinate workflows with different disciplines and insights that help a major EPCM project achieve safe, predictable and commercially successful outcomes.

Based across Belo Horizonte and the project site in Brazil, you will oversee the project controls function across planning, cost management, change management, reporting and risk. • Provide project leadership with clear performance insights, recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Lead project controls reviews and audits at key stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the exchange of cost, schedule, progress, changes, risk and change information across project disciplines.
  • Support project proposals, change management, claims and time and cost assessments.
  • Build, lead, coach and develop the project controls team.
  • Partner with project leadership, the client and delivery teams to strengthen governance, accountability and predictable delivery.

What we’re looking for

You’re an experienced project controls leader who can turn complex project information into clear, actionable insight. You combine strong technical capability with commercial awareness, leadership credibility and the ability to influence across multidisciplinary project environments.

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, finance, project management or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience working within EPCM project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of planning, cost control, changes, risk, change management and performance reporting.
  • Advanced capability using Primavera P6, ERP Systems (JD Edwards, SAP), Microsoft applications and earned value reporting.
  • Experience establishing project controls frameworks and supporting major projects through execution.
  • Strong leadership, client engagement, collaboration and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex project environment.
  • Professional fluency in Portuguese and English is strongly preferred for this Brazil-based project.
  • Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, continuous improvement seeking and negotiations skills.
