Position Summary

The Project Controls Intern will support the Project Controls team in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting project performance. This role provides hands-on experience in cost control, scheduling, and project financial reconciliation. The intern will assist in maintaining accurate project data, ensuring alignment between budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures, and supporting timely reporting for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support cost control activities, including tracking budgets, commitments, and actual expenditures

  • Assist in financial reconciliation of project costs, ensuring consistency between systems and reports

  • Help maintain and update project control tools, dashboards, and tracking logs

  • Support schedule monitoring and progress tracking activities

  • Assist in data collection, validation, and consolidation for reporting purposes

  • Prepare routine project reports, including cost reports, variance analyses, and forecasts

  • Identify discrepancies in project data and support resolution efforts

  • Ensure compliance with internal project control procedures and reporting standards

  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Project Controls team as needed

Qualifications

Education

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in:

    • Engineering

    • Construction Management

    • Finance

    • Business Administration

    • or a related field

Experience

  • No prior experience required; prior internship or coursework in project management, finance, or data analysis is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of project management and/or project controls principles

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI) is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Skills Required
