Job Description

AECOM is seeking an innovative and proactive Project Controls Director, the candidate will be involved in a number of projects and project teams at the same time, at various stages of the projects’ lifecycle, from inception through close-out, varying in complexity and value. We are working with a top tier Biopharmaceutical client to expand their Houston based campus.  

The responsibilities of Project Controls Director include, but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare monthly financial reports 
  • Reviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures; maintains tracking database to ensure that funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures 
  • Review and advise on uncommitted balances 
  • Evaluate and advise on contingency balances 
  • Examine vendor invoices / applications for payment 
  • Lead the change control process 
  • Project financial close-out 
  • Evaluate productivity versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis 
  • Compares actual cost to funding limitations; prepares expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding 
  • Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated cost trending / forecasting 
  • Participates in and may lead project cost review meetings 
  • Assists in procedure development and implementation 
  • Conduct periodic construction project site visits to monitor project progress and assure progress schedule integrity, and participate in regular progress schedule meetings with construction team 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements 

  • BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Impeccable verbal, written and numeracy skills in a client facing capacity 
  • Ability to work under own initiative and unsupervised, but also as part of a team 
  • Experience of working in process manufacturing and/or bio-pharmaceutical industries; on-site experience is preferred but not required 
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Teams 
  • Familiarity with business intelligence / reporting / dashboarding tools such as Power BI / Tableau

Skills Required
