Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a Design Project Control Professional to join the team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in leading project controls integration on major projects within the Design & Engineering sector, providing project controls leadership across the design phase of major capital projects. The position is focused on ensuring effective integration of scope, schedule, cost, risk, change, and progress information, while supporting informed decision-making and the successful delivery of complex capital programs through strong governance, cross-functional coordination, analysis, and reporting.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will establish and maintain integrated project control systems such as Oracle and Unifier, ensuring they are accurately configured and that project data remains robust, aligned, and reliable throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee the coordination of timesheet inputs, labour data, progress measurement, and reporting requirements, while also preparing, analyzing, and presenting KPI metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators for management review. You will play a key role in facilitating monthly performance reviews, integrated forecasting, and project reporting to support informed project and leadership decision-making.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated performance insight reports that bring together information from planning, design management, commercial, risk, change, and delivery teams to provide a clear view of project status, trends, and emerging issues. As part of the wider project controls function, you will ensure consistent data structures, support effective performance baselining, and help translate complex project information into clear reporting for senior stakeholders. In addition, you will assist in the development and review of control account structures, project breakdown structures, and reporting frameworks to support the effective management of design scope and program performance.

A key aspect of the role will involve maintaining complete and well-organized project controls records, including baselines, change logs, assumptions, action trackers, and all relevant supporting documentation. You will identify and help resolve project controls issues, working collaboratively with the wider project controls team and discipline leads to recommend practical solutions. In supporting the setup of major projects, you will contribute to the development of project controls processes, management plans, reporting frameworks, governance routines, and KPI structures, helping to ensure a strong integrated controls foundation from project inception.

Within a major project or program environment, you will work closely with the Project Director and Commercial Lead to provide leadership across all aspects of integrated project controls. You will collaborate with the broader project team to ensure alignment across design, planning, risk, commercial, and delivery functions, while also mentoring project controllers and promoting consistent application of project controls procedures. Drawing on your knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or other standard forms of contract, you will help ensure controls alignment and project success, while also contributing to the Performance Excellence Group, championing best-practice project controls integration and continuous improvement. As with all roles, you will undertake any additional duties required by your Line Manager or Arcadis, while maintaining full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and guidelines.
