Role Summary
The Project Consultant is a core member of the Data Solutions team, a team that develop sophisticated in-house analysis, reconstruction and recalculation tools through 15 years of hands-on contracted-out reconciliation experience.
The Project Consultant:
Provides coaching and motivation to colleagues within the team.
Manages own time to ensure effective delivery of project work and client service level agreements.
Achieves production and quality targets set.
Produces, checks and audits discontinuance and other project work and provide constructive feedback.
Provides specialist skills to the team such as in coding or technical pension support.
Works effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
Develops technical and process pension knowledge for DB and DC pensions
Department Information
Equiniti Data Solutions have worked with schemes covering over 4.5 million members, including schemes Equiniti administers, external schemes and across public and private sectors.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
- Identify gaps in processes and suggest solutions
- Highly analytical: thrives in a creative but logical problem solving environment
- Be able to innovate to improve unit times or accuracy either by new solutions or building on existing solutions
- Perform project management roles including designing and maintaining project plans and risk logs and interacting with external clients
- Performance management
- Demonstrate commercial awareness including ability to record chargeable time professionally and prudently on individual contracts
- Prioritising and organising own workload to ensure that deadlines are met and standards of delivery maintained including indicating when new work or assistance is required
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to colleagues
- Provide support to Project Leaders / Managers / Operations Director
- Escalate appropriate issues to Project Leaders / Managers / Operations Director with proposed solutions
- Issue accurate client reports, arrange meetings and teleconference calls – prepare for, attend in person as required, create agendas and accurate minutes
- Develop effective working relationships with team colleagues and internal and external business contacts – liaising with other departments as required
- Identify own training needs - seek and act on opportunities to develop technical and business understanding and skills
- Maintaining data held on systems and providing MI as required
- Deal with most complex issues
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
- Self-motivated and ability to encourage others Well developed systems proficiency particularly in Excel and Word including mail merge, basic Access and SQL proficiency
- Ability to handle and analyse complex and high volumes of pension data
- Must be flexible and proactive
- Able to work to laid down processes and procedures
- Strong financial awareness
- Understanding/experience of financial services in UK
- Awareness of scheme rules, industry regulations and current/historic pensions legislation
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail and capable of following defined processes and procedures
- Computer literate with a willingness to learn a variety of systems
- Strong numeracy skills
- Previous experience of Defined Benefits Pensions is essential
- Able to multi task – able to work under pressure and under own initiative
Can be regarded as an expert in chosen area internally and externally. The specialism has particular value to the rest of the team
