Job Description

Be part of a high-impact, client-side Project Controls Team that is working on a nationally significant Defence project in Adelaide. This team plays a critical role in shaping strategic delivery outcomes across a transformative portfolio. As part of the Project Controls team, you’ll be at the forefront of driving excellence in program assurance and change control.

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Program/Project Change Controller/Manager to take ownership of the change control within the Project or Program Area.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage change control to the relevant Project or Program, including tracking, reporting and analysis of variations and emerging trends.
  • Work within the newly established Change Control Team as part of the wider Project Controls Function, assisting in embedding newly formed Change processes and procedures
  • Provide strategic insights to the client by identifying key risks, opportunities and impacts arising from change activity.
  • Coordinate integrated baseline management exercises throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Be part of a high-performing team who are assessing all program change/variation requests, ensuring timely and robust impact assessments across cost, schedule and risk are completed by the relevant project teams.
  • Develop internal capability through training, coaching and recruitment of subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Control Leads, Cost Controllers, Planners, Project Directors, Sponsors, Commercial and Finance teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Support the delivery of programme controls maturity and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

You’ll bring:

  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain (or currently hold) an Australian Baseline Security Clearance OR be a UK Citizen with current UK clearance.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across PMO and delivery teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of change control, cost planning, scheduling and risk management principles.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
  • Familiarity with project control systems such as Contruent (formerly Prism) is highly desirable.
  • A relevant degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management or similar.
  • Professional qualifications such as P30, Prince 2, MSP, APM PMQ, PPQ, CHPPM or equivalent.
  • Experience with P3M frameworks and IT solutions for programme controls.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for building capability and driving continuous improvement.
