A Day in Your Life at MKS
As a Project Buyer at MKS Inc., you will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of strategic initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive procurement excellence across direct and indirect materials, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. In this role, you will report to the Supply Chain Project Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Collaborate cross functionally within the region to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgets.
- Manage the procurement process for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition.
- Utilize SAP for managing procurement activities, including purchase orders (PO), release orders, and inventory management.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Oversee the creation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage the release of orders in accordance with project requirements and timelines.
- Monitor and control procurement costs to stay within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure that all procured materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Generate and analyze procurement reports to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Up to 20 % of Travel is required either to visit suppliers or MKS sites across Europe.
Skills You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on project buying.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP( any other ERP is a plus), Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Smartsheet)
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
