Position Summary
The Westchester County office is seeking an entry-level project assistant to join our Securities Litigation team. The project assistant will provide a wide range of administrative, document processing services and practice specific assistance to attorneys in the Department, from onset of litigation cases through post-trial. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., must be flexible for overtime, as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities

Provides general legal/administrative and litigation support to attorneys.

Maintains case and document databases pursuant to department standards; updates physical files as necessary.

Updates case information, scans documents, keyboards and prepares legal documents, and conducts research.

Prepares binders for depositions, hearings, and other proceedings pursuant to departmental templates.

Creates indices of documents per examples provided.

Processes time entry, open new matters, draft engagement letters and audit responses.

Makes travel arrangements, processes reimbursement expenses, maintains calendar.

Manages phone lines for supported attorneys, fields calls and conveys messages as necessary. Communicates with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and liaisons.

Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Prior Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies.

Working knowledge or experience in a law firm environment is helpful.
The expected pay range for this position is:
$55,000 to $60,000
Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.
