Summary 

Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Jurni Design Group is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our growing team in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This position is responsible for leading and developing architectural design solutions for industrial and commercial projects, with a primary focus on food and beverage processing facilities, cold storage environments, and warehousing and distribution facilities. 

The Project Architect works closely with clients, engineers, project managers, and other design professionals to transform operational challenges into practical, purpose-driven design solutions. This role is responsible for directing and developing all phases of project delivery, including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA). 

The Project Architect serves as a key member of the multi-disciplinary design team and is responsible for coordinating project execution, developing construction documents, ensuring code compliance, and maintaining communication with clients and project stakeholders throughout the design process. 

Additional Information 

This position may require occasional travel to client sites, project locations, and permitting agencies. Site visits may be conducted independently or with other team members to gather information, review existing conditions, and support ongoing projects.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Thorough understanding of architectural design and construction documentation. 
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building, life safety, accessibility, and zoning codes. 
  • Highly proficient in Revit and proficient in AutoCAD. 
  • Experience producing construction documents for commercial and industrial projects. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. 
  • Ability to collaborate successfully within a multi-disciplinary design environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.  

Recommended Education:

  • Professional architectural licensure preferred. 
  • AIA membership or professional involvement preferred. 

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as an Architectural Designer, Project Architect, or related architectural professional.  

Recommended Work Experience: 

  • Experience in food and beverage processing facilities. 
  • Experience in cold storage and refrigerated environments. 
  • Experience in warehousing and distribution facilities. 
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary industrial projects. 

Required Certifications:

None. 

Recommended Certifications:

  • Registered Architect (RA) but not required 
  • AIA Membership 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate architectural drawings and building information models utilizing Revit and AutoCAD. 
  • Lead the development of design concepts and architectural solutions from project inception through construction. 
  • Prepare and coordinate Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA) phases. 
  • Perform building code, life safety, and accessibility code analysis and reviews. 
  • Develop project specifications and architectural standards. 
  • Support the continued development and enhancement of company design standards and details. 
  • Prepare construction documents for industrial, food processing, cold storage, and commercial facilities. 
  • Conduct site visits to collect project information, verify existing conditions, and support ongoing projects. 
  • Develop design alternatives and evaluate project solutions. 
  • Assist clients in evaluating project requirements, building codes, zoning regulations, and design options. 
  • Coordinate projects through permitting and approval processes with local authorities having jurisdiction. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering disciplines to ensure fully coordinated project delivery. 
  • Manage and coordinate outside consultants and engineering partners as required. 
  • Participate in client meetings, project presentations, and design reviews. 
  • Maintain project schedules, documentation, and quality standards throughout the design process. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of project, departmental, and organizational objectives. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to project locations as required. 
  • Ability to walk active construction sites and traverse uneven terrain. 
  • Ability to climb stairs and access various areas of project facilities. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits. 

Skills Required
