Project Accountant

Exus Renewables North America is a next-generation Independent Power Producer that develops, owns, and operates renewable energy assets (Wind, Solar and Battery Storage) while providing world class asset management services for over 5 GW of renewable energy assets to third parties.  Exus has a proven track record of constructing and commercializing renewable energy assets and they are building their portfolio by acquiring and building utility-scale renewables projects and guiding those still in development through to full operational status. As part of Exus’ asset management business, the firm undertakes full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide. Exus draws on its wide-ranging expertise to optimize technical performance, reduce financial risk, and ensure long-term revenue certainty for their own and their clients’ renewable energy assets.
Exus is seeking a Project Accountant - 3rd Party Asset Management will support the day-to-day accounting activities for the Exus 3rd party client basis projects. They will be responsible for reviewing financial transactions performing month end close and responding to management and investor inquiries. This role is a blend of recurring accounting functions and variable projects.
Please note: this is an fully onsite role with 4 days in office, 1 day remote, with reasonable flexibility in our downtown Pittsburgh office.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the management of day-to-day accounting activities per client/project to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audit.
2. Partner with manager on and own monthly/quarterly management financial and metric reporting and monthly variance analysis per client/project needs.
3. Develop internal policies, processes and procedures that are appropriately tailored to be effective and efficient per client/project needs. You will drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations.
4. Complete the accounting month-end/year-end close process per client/project.
5. Partner with the accounting team leadership to construct month end close cycle cadence to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting per client/project.
6. Prepare and manage all journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the general ledger month-end process per client/project.
7. In conjunction with the project, construction, and asset management teams, prepare internal budgets and forecasts for each client/project. 
8. Complete other duties as assigned with the accounting and finance team. 

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
2. 3+ years of public or private industry experience required.
3. Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP.
4. Strong proficiency in accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
5. Experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
6. Wind and/or solar energy project development, renewable energy industry and partnership experience preferred through not required.
