Project Accountant (Senior Associate Level)
ERM, the largest pure play global sustainability consultancy, is looking for a Project Accountant to join our Finance team in the Netherlands. This role will be based in our office in Utrecht (or Rotterdam). We offer flexible working (e.g. working from home 1-2 days/week).

The Role
The successful candidate will support our consulting team in the Netherlands on financial project administration, and relevant regulatory and accounting rules related issues. You will support the BENE (Belgium and Netherlands) business through our transformation journey as we seek to deepen digitalization and work on the planned ERP system change.
Responsibilities & tasks
- Support the Project Managers in your role as Project accountant, by active project follow-up (set-up, budgets, reviews,..).
- Optimize our Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), a key performance indicator at ERM, by following-up on billings and collections.
- Assist the team with the monthly closing processes, year-end audits, and other essential corporate financial requirements
- Improve Financial Processes’
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
Requirements for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting
- Professional Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a financial role (in Audit companies is an asset)
- Fluency in English (B2/C1 level) and Dutch are mandatory
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Able to work in an international environment
- Able to operate as a detailed, hands-on person within the local finance team
- Excellent working knowledge MS Windows based software packages: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills in a pressured consulting environment
- Working knowledge of an ERP is preferred
