Job Description

We are seeking a Project Accountant to provide financial support and insight across a portfolio of moderately complex projects. Working under general supervision, you will collaborate closely with project managers, operational teams and finance colleagues to support effective financial management and informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

This role would suit an analytical and detail-oriented finance professional who can manage complex financial information while maintaining a clear understanding of the wider commercial and operational context.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing project accounting support across moderately complex projects.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, analyses and forecasts.
  • Reviewing financial results and providing clear recommendations based on identified trends and findings.
  • Partnering with project managers and operational stakeholders to support effective financial and commercial decision-making.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal requirements.
  • Monitoring project financial performance and identifying potential risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Performing financial audits and reviews to support compliance, accuracy and effective financial control.
  • Preparing ad hoc and specialist financial reports to meet business requirements.
  • Applying professional accounting principles and concepts in a consistent, practical and effective manner.
  • Identifying and delivering process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency and service quality.
  • Collaborating extensively with operational teams and colleagues across an international, matrixed organisation.

 

    Qualifications

     

    • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Approximately four to five years of relevant project accounting experience, ideally gained within a multinational organisation.
    • Experience working in a complex, fast-paced and international business environment.
    • Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • The ability to manage detailed financial information while understanding the broader commercial and operational picture.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to different stakeholders.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
    • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Experience collaborating closely with operational teams and a broad range of stakeholders.
    • A consistent commitment to accuracy, integrity and high-quality delivery.
