Position Title: Project Accountant I
Location: Pembroke Pines Office – 100%  In-office  
Job Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Position Overview

The position of Project Account is responsible for managing all the financial information related to a project along with processing accounts payable.  The ideal candidate will be required to manage each project’s income and expenses.  Monthly reports are required to ensure the project is performing as budgeted.  

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of management of all Accounts Receivable components including but not limited to billing, cash receipt, etc.
  • Management of Account Payables
  • Provide Project Managers and Principals with requested project information and assist in keeping Project Financials
  • Establish projects within Acumatica, CES project accounting system, including data entry of project budgets, contract amounts, change orders, billing information, Subconsultants, etc.
  • Process monthly earned revenue based on the Work-In-Progress (WIP) report
  • Verifies contracts and/or purchase orders for subcontractors and/or vendors as required
  • Manage and maintain Subconsultants Invoices and payment and monitors their compliance such as Certificate of Insurance and agreements
  • Review weekly time sheets, and expense reports along with the supporting documentationAdditional administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in project accounting
  • Experience within construction, engineering, architecture, or project-based services industry strongly preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with accounting software (Acumatica strongly preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Experience with project-based accounting systems and billing platforms

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform additional project related duties as required.
