In the role of Project Accountant 1, we'll count on you to:

• Take responsibility for client invoicing, AR collections management and project budgeting.
• Preparation of purchase requisitions, work confirmations, coding and processing A/P and sub-consultant invoices, assistance with employee time sheets, and expense reports.
• Manage, administer, and maintain accurate contract documentation, including entry of fee and budget.
• Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues.
• Utilizing HDR's project accounting system, work with project management and administrative staff to ensure compliance of contractual requirements.
• Attend project meetings including 0% reviews, Project reviews, and adhoc project discussions. Share financial position information at the reviews.
• Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis.
• Assist project managers to monitor the financial health of their projects including forecasting cost at completion estimates and planned versus actual budget analysis.
• Request and assist PM in entering percent completes to monitor project progress.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Accounting experience in an A/E/C industry is desirable
• Oracle EBS experience is a plus

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management
• Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
