The Job/What You'll Do:

We are seeking a highly self-sufficient and results-driven Programs Manager, Strategic Initiatives, to develop, manage, and continuously enhance a portfolio of advisor-facing programs designed to help financial advisors grow and strengthen their businesses.

This role serves as a bridge between strategy and execution, bringing together expertise from various stakeholders and departments across AssetMark to develop and deliver impactful programs for financial advisors.

If you are the type who is comfortable with managing marketing/communications plans, not afraid of generating reports, doing research, building surveys, and is naturally an independent problem solver, this is the job for you.

This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.

  • Partner extensively across AssetMark, including with Business Consultants, senior leadership, Marketing, and other departments, to bring together expertise from across the business and develop and deliver programs that address the evolving needs of financial advisors
  • Engage directly with financial advisors to gather feedback, understand business needs, and identify opportunities to enhance existing programs or develop new offerings
  • Serve as the bridge between strategy and execution, establishing and maintaining clear objectives, timelines, deliverables, content, communications, and launches while proactively driving actions across internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Create surveys and conduct ongoing industry research to identify relevant data, insights, and best practices. Combine research, advisor feedback, program engagement data, and internal expertise to identify opportunities for continuous program improvement. Manage research vendors on behalf of the team
  • Prepare reporting for assigned programs, including KPIs, ROI, participation, engagement, advisor feedback, and other key metrics, and use findings to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and controls, consistently evaluating and enhancing processes for optimal performance
  • Invest time in learning the full spectrum of AssetMark’s advisor-facing programs and Business Consulting capabilities and the role they play in helping AssetMark build deep relationships with advisors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage business-facing programs through the full program lifecycle, from development and launch through ongoing management, measurement, and continuous improvement
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to bring together expertise from multiple areas of the business and drive alignment and accountability without direct authority
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with financial advisors, internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and external partners
  • Ability to gather and synthesize advisor/client feedback, research, data, and internal expertise and translate insights into actionable program enhancements
  • Strong understanding of program performance measurement, including the ability to establish and evaluate KPIs, engagement metrics, and ROI
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize, and manage multiple programs and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and develop effective program communications and presentations
  • Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to define challenges, collect relevant information, draw conclusions, and develop actionable solutions
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a service mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Understanding of business consulting, practice management, or the challenges associated with operating and growing a small or advisory business is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and OneNote
  • Proficiency with Excel formulas, pivot tables, charts, and formatting
